Public transport:

The most famous public transport is the waterbuses, called Vaporetti. There are plying fix routes along the Grand Canal and other cities Islands. Water taxis are also famous but much more expensive.

The local population to ferry tourists across the canal uses the Targhetto’s gondolas.

Traffic and Parking:

On Venice island cars are not allowed. In Piazzale di Roma, which has an affordable (about € 18 per day) underground car park (Autorimesso Comunale). It is also possible to park your car on the artificial island of Tronchetto.

Only on two islands is traffic allowed, these are Lido and Pellestrina.
